Cochrane Camera Club Exhibition and Sale

As the saying goes in Star Wars, “May the 4th be with you”!!  And it was:  over twenty members of Cochrane’s camera club braved snow flurries to take part in a terrific collection of photographic art at the Alliance Church on Glenbow Road.  About 260 visitors came to view our framed art works and were not disappointed:  the variety of images and their many presentations were well received and appreciated.

Wendi Forster championed this show.  She had set up a similar smaller one last fall, and knew what we needed to make it a success:  more space, more artists, better light, and more advertising—it all came together for participants and the public both.  Many photos sold, and equally important for our club, some folks inquired about joining our group!  We hope to see new faces at our next general meeting!

Our president, Pat Johnston, presented Wendi with a thank-you card and a small gift at the close of the show.  He congratulated Wendi for a successful show, and we all gave her a big round of applause to show our appreciation for her hard work and attention to detail that made this a success.

The show united our members with a common cause and experience, and we had a chance to view the best work that we all strive for.  This was inspiring all by itself—the sharing of our work in one large presentation is worth as much or more than any sales.  We look forward to the next presentation, scheduled for November 16th, just before Christmas.  While this show had double the presenters from the last one, we are hoping for an even bigger number of entrees at the next one.

Well done, everyone!  What a terrific show!  And, May the 4th always be with you!
